The Barranco del Río Dulce Natural Park, surrounding the small village of Peregrina, is one of the most spectacular hiking gems in the province of Guadalajara. Up to three marked trails branch off from its paths, allowing you to enjoy the canyon, its viewpoints, and the unique biodiversity of this enclave.
Route 1: Hoz de Pelegrina (Peregrina Gorge)Ideal for families or hikers with little experience, this is the easiest and shortest route, totaling 3.7 to 4 km with minimal elevation gain. The circular route skirts the gorge, offering a view of the canyon carved by the river and its distinctive rock formations.
Suggested image: Photographs of the canyon and rock walls, with the path alongside the river lined with trees, and the village of Peregrina in the background.
Route 2: Gollorio Waterfall and ViewpointThis classic route (approximately 6 km) combines beauty with a touch of adventure, as it ascends to the Gollorio viewpoint and its waterfall, famous when the river's flow allows. The route winds through riverside forests and past impressive cliffs up to 120 meters high, with frequent sightings of griffon vultures and other birds of prey.
Suggested image: Gollorio Waterfall (when flowing), a viewpoint with panoramic views of the ravine, and birds soaring above the canyon.Route 3: Complete Circular Route (Pelegrina Viewpoints)For more experienced hikers, the longer option follows the upper part of the ravine, linking the best viewpoints in Pelegrina and returning along the opposite bank. The total distance exceeds 7-8 km, including the section of the Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente Trail, which encompasses the most emblematic landscapes where the naturalist's documentaries were filmed.
Suggested image: Panoramic views from the viewpoints, with vistas of the entire canyon, commemorative plaques for Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente, and the town seen from above.
On all the routes, hikers are surrounded by an explosion of nature, especially beautiful in autumn. The paths cross wooden bridges, pass by poplars, willows, and walnut trees, and alternate between riverside areas with stretches of limestone rock and meadows at the top of the ravine.Enviar comentariosPaneles lateralesHistorialGuardado
